Pope Francis Moves Massabki Canonization Forward!

On December 17, Patriarch Rai confirmed that he spoke with the Holy Father and that no additional miracles were needed to canonize the Massabki Martyrs, as they were martyred for the faith.

Canonization is the universal Church’s official recognition that we know someone to be in heaven, and, therefore, also interceding before God. Furthermore, officially canonized saints have Christian lives worth imitating.

The Mission will have a Divine Liturgy celebrating the canonization to-be on January 22 (though a date is not set, and imaginably there are other administrative tasks yet to come). At the Divine Liturgy, after a blessing with the Martyrs’ relics, everyone is welcome to venerate the relics.
